A London Olympic wrestler's widow is devastated after someone broke into her home and stole her late husband's medals.
Jo-Anne Geris, whose husband Harry Geris represented Canada at the 1968 (Mexico), 1972 (Munich) and 1976 (Montreal) summer games, was out of town visiting her son in Mississauga last weekend when her Acton Cres. home was burglarized.

Teen threatens mom with hammer.

BARRIE, Ont. — A teen has been charged with uttering threats and mischief after allegedly threatening to hit her mother with a hammer.
Police were called to a home in Barrie, located 90 km north of Toronto, at 7:15 p.m. Thursday night. Officers were confronted with a 15-year-old girl who not only threatened her mother with a hammer, but threatened to damage property with it there as well.
She was arrested and held overnight for a bail hearing Friday.

Body found in Thames a women

A body found in the Thames River earlier this week is that of a woman, Chatham-Kent police revealed Thursday.
The body was found early Wednesday by a resident of Riverview Line along the banks of the river, just west of Chatham.
The woman will be examined by a forensic pathologist. Chatham-Kent police are seeking help from the public. Anyone with information is asked to contact 519-436-6616. Anonymous callers may contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) and may be eligible for a cash reward.
