SIU investigates nursing home incident.

Ontario's Special Investigations Unit is probing how a nursing home resident in Strathroy was injured after police were called in.
The 56-year-old resident of Sprucedale Nursing Home suffered a fracture in an incident on Feb. 25, according to the agency that investigates reports of serious injury or death involving police.
The SIU said officers were called to the nursing home.
The officers "interacted" with a 56-year-old male resident, who was taken to Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital and transferred to London Health Sciences Centre.

Beer store bandit treated for mild hypothermia.

Police responded to a break and enter in progress at a Dundas St. Beer Store and found a male inside the store. The suspect fled the scene and was tracked by the police service dog to a nearby creek both the male and the police dog entered the water and had to be pulled from the fast flowing creek by the K-9 officer.
The male was taken to London Health Sciences Centre with mild hypothermia before being arrested.

Pair jailed for manslaughter

A brother and sister who pleaded guilty to being accessories after a manslaughter were kept in custody this morning.
Sasha Ireland, 22, a mother of three young children was sentenced to two years in prison for her part in the death of Troy Nicholas last August.
Her brother, Fred Doxtator-Ireland, 18, was sentenced to 17 months in jail.
Both are First Nations members as was Nicholas. All three and Keeley Shipway, 18, had been drinking together when an argument flared up between Nicholas and Doxtator-Ireland.

Ontario courts may allow cameras in the future.

The discussions on introducing more technology into Ontario courts haven’t started yet, but it's likely the media started asking for more access.
In the past the media has pushed for increased access, as when reporters were allowed to tweet from inside the courtroom during both the Russell Williams court hearing and the Bandidos murder trial.

Missing girl's body found

OPP officers found Kayla Maybee’s body Monday afternoon, putting a tragic end to the story of the eight-year-old girl who disappeared into Gentleman Creek March 5.
Hampered by rising flood waters, police officially called off the search last week, but were still monitoring the water levels.
Her body was found on the north side of the creek, east of Mayfair Rd, about halfway between where she disappeared into the creek and the road.
