Ontario’s police watchdog is investigating after a senior citizen fractured a bone while being arrested by London police.
The 71-year-old woman was injured when police arrested her on Grosvenor St. Monday, said Frank Phillips, a spokesperson with the Special Investigations Unit.
London police went to a residence on Grosvenor St. for an investigation about 7 p.m. When officers arrived they dealt with two people in the home.
The 71-year-old woman was taken to University Hospital, where she was treated.
It’s not known why the woman was arrested.
The SIU investigates reports involving police, where there’s been a death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.

45K missing from Wildcats
Woodstock police won’t confirm they’re investigating missing money within the Woodstock Wildcats Girls Hockey Association.
"In an effort to protect the integrity of any potential investigation that may result, the Woodstock police service will not be making any further comment at this time," police said in a release Monday afternoon.
Police said they were contacted Monday by the association’s executive, who reported “financial inconsistencies” within the organization.
QMI Agency has learned that $45,000 has gone missing at the organization, and that there may have been other financial issues in the last two years as well.

Would be robber foiled
A would-be, middle-aged female bank robber warned she had explosives and demanded cash, but got away with nothing Monday afternoon.
The woman walked into the Bank of Montreal at 457 Wharncliffe Rd about 1:50 p.m., London police said.
The woman said she had explosives but when she was denied cash, fled.
Police said no one was hurt, no cash was taken and it appears there were no explosives.
They're looking for white female, about 50 to 60 years old, 5'3" tall with a slim build.

Rain could last until June
Just wait until June.
That’s when the rain may finally abate and we’ll get a stretch of sun and warmth, Environment Canada meteorologist Geoff Coulson says.
He described the past few days as a “triple whammy” of cold, windy and wet.
“(Monday) was the real insult to injury of not getting out of the single digits” in temperature, he said. Ordinarily, this time of year is shirtsleeves weather.
