A routine vehicle stop in Southwold Township led to the seizure of 170,000 contraband cigarettes.
OPP pulled over the vehicle for a Highway Traffic Act violation and searched it. Officers found 17 cases of contraband tobacco.
A 63-year-old man and a 19-year-old man, both from Quebec, face charges under the Excise Act for possession of a tobacco not properly stamped.
If convicted, both men could face fines of up to $42,500 or five years in prison.
More charges are pending.

Later Wednesday, the man whose home was rammed with the pickup truck went to hospital and said he was struck by the pickup. He was treated for minor injuries and released from hospital.
The man with stab wounds, identified as John Walker, 52, of London, remains in hospital in critical condition.
Jessie Edwards, 37, of London, is charged with aggravated assault.
Walker is charged with assault with a weapon, dangerous operation of a vehicle, taking a motor vehicle without consent and property damage.

Kindergarten: Families are encouraged to engage in early learning activities. Teachers may provide resources to support home-based activities.

New homework guidelines for Thames Valley schools
The Thames Valley District School Board is implementing new homework guidelines that could give students a break from work over the holidays.
A document posted on the Thames Valley District School Board website from the Program Services department outlines the new procedures that set homework time limits for students depending on their grade. The guidelines, set to take effect next fall, were written in response to questions and concerns regarding “the nature and use of homework” in schools.

“20 minute London makeover” tomorrow
The City of London wants to give London a “makeover” just in time for spring cleaning season.
The city is calling on local businesses to join the sixth annual city-wide “20 minute London makeover” tomorrow at 2 p.m.
The goal,for business owners and staff to clean up outside of their businesses for 20 minutes on Friday.
The “20 minute London makeover” is organized by London Clean & Green, a partnership of more than 40 local businesses dedicated improving the environment

The University of Western Ontario has cracked a Top-10 list, but not necessarily one school officials would want.
UWO, one of Ontario’s largest schools, has been named North America’s fourth-best party school by Playboy magazine.
Playboy’s UWO salute — in the adult magazine’s May issue — was taken with a special sense of pride at the school’s largest student residence, Saugeen Maitland Hall.
