Man struck in face while waiting at bus stop

Shawn Dockstader is worried about his eyesight, his job and his college classes after being attacked at a London bus stop Saturday night.

Dockstader was struck in the face by an object thrown from a passing SUV, causing bleeding behind both eyes.

“There was hooting and hollering. It sounded like they were partying,” Dockstader said Sunday.

On his way to work at the John Labatt Centre, Dockstader was standing at the bus stop on Western Rd., just south of Sarnia Rd. about 10 p.m.

Child porn doc not allowed near kids

MONTREAL – A Quebec doctor agreed to no longer be alone with children or people with mental illness after an investigation by the province’s college of physicians found thousands of pornographic images – many of them of children – on his computer’s hard drive.
Claude Gauthier, a doctor from Contrecoeur, about 50 km north of Montreal, appeared in front of a disciplinary tribunal Friday.
Between 40,000 and 50,000 sexual images were found on Gauthier’s computer during the 2007 search of his office.

Memorial for fallen fire fighters

A joint funeral service will be held Thursday in Listowel to honour the two volunteer firefighters killed in a store fire last week.
Raymond Walter, 30, of Listowel, and Ken Rea, 56, deputy district chief from Atwood, died when the Dollar Stop store roof collapsed on them.
The service, expected to draw hundreds in the tight-knit community, will be held at the Listowel Memorial Arena, 380 Maitland Ave. N., Listowel on Thursday at 2 p.m.
Additional venues for the service may be announced.

Teen arrested for armed robbery

Saskatoon police arrested a 14-year-old boy for the armed robbery of a city business Saturday afternoon.
Police said a male entered the business with a handgun shortly after noon, and fled with an undetermined amount of cash.
Police then followed a track of snow prints to a nearby home.
There, a teen who fit the suspect description was arrested.
A handgun was recovered in the home.
The teen was held and brought before a Justice of the Peace Sunday.

Baby video goes viral

A video of a London infant who doesn’t know whether to crack up or be freaked out by his mom’s nose blowing has gone viral.
The video, Emerson — Mommy’s Nose is Scary, shows five-month-old Emerson reacting to his mom blowing her nose. Sometimes he reacts with sheer terror and other times with delighted giggles.
The video was posted Monday and has since garnered close to  6,723,800 views

McLachlan cancels show

Sarah McLachlan cancelled at the last minute her Saturday night concert at London’s John Labatt Centre, citing “illness.”
A press release issued late Saturday stated the cancellation was “due to illness” — though it didn’t specify if the world-renowned singer, who did a sound check at the JLC earlier in the day, is the one who fell ill.
There are unconfirmed suggestions, though, that McLachlan lost her voice.
The JLC is advising people to hang on to their tickets from the cancelled Saturday show.
