Break-in suspect inside

A Londoner returning home early Thursday not only found his home had been broken into, but also could hear the suspect still inside. Police surrounded the home in the area of Cheapside St. and Thornton Ave. and arrested a male. A 24-year-old Londoner is facing charges of breaking and entering and possession of break-in tools.

New City Hall part of mayor's vision

Building a new city hall is a key part of Mayor Joe Fontana’s vision to keep revitalizing downtown London.
With a summit on the downtown’s future looming next week, Fontana is pitching the pricey project — a source of debate for years — as a catalyst to trigger millions in private development in the core.
“This is probably a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” he said.
Fontana says council must decide by this summer its plans for city hall — and he’s prepared for criticism of his idea.
