TECUMSEH, Ont. -- Three Lakeshore men are in custody after a gunpoint robbery at a drugstore in Tecumseh Thursday afternoon.
Essex OPP said two men wearing disguises entered the pharmacy at 12140 Tecumseh Rd. brandishing handguns — which may have been replicas — and demanded OxyContin.
The men made off with about 1,800 tablets and, as they took off in their Chevy Blazer with a third man, the store employee took note of its description and provided the information to police, who gave chase.
One of the three robbers jumped out of the Blazer at County Road 22 and Brighton Road, where he was immediately arrested.
The other two suspects abandoned their vehicle in a nearby residential area and fled on foot to a convenience store, where they were also arrested.
The three men, aged 33, 31 and 29, are facing charges including using a firearm in the commission of an offence, flight from police and disguise with intent.
