In the wake of the ongoing nuclear instability in Japan, authorities in British Columbia say that radiation monitors in the province have detected "minute amounts" of radiation from the reactors in Japan. The B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) said Monday that Health Canada had informed the centre about the radiation detection.
The amounts are "negligible" and do not pose a health risk, the BCCDC said.These are not cause for concern, and are smaller than the normal day-to-day fluctuations typically seen in B.C."
