Murder suspect released

The Ingersoll babysitter accused of the second-degree murder of five-month-old Brookelyn Hopkins was released on bail Tuesday morning.
Melissa Garland, who has been under house arrest since last August, appeared at the Oxford County Court House shackled and wearing a grey sweater and a ponytail.
A ban prevents the publication of any evidence heard at the bail hearing.
Garland was originally charged last August with failing to provide the necessities of life and criminal negligence, causing the death to the infant.
