Ontario’s police watchdog is investigating after a senior citizen fractured a bone while being arrested by London police.
The 71-year-old woman was injured when police arrested her on Grosvenor St. Monday, said Frank Phillips, a spokesperson with the Special Investigations Unit.
London police went to a residence on Grosvenor St. for an investigation about 7 p.m. When officers arrived they dealt with two people in the home.
The 71-year-old woman was taken to University Hospital, where she was treated.
It’s not known why the woman was arrested.
The SIU investigates reports involving police, where there’s been a death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
