Health inspector suspended

A public health inspector has been suspended and an investigation launched, the Elgin St. Thomas Public Health agency has announced.
The male inspector, one of eight working for the agency, was suspended after management found what the health unit is describing only as "potential inconsistencies in premise inspection reports."
"The inspector in question has been placed on suspension pending the results of an investigation," Cynthia St. John, executive director of Elgin St. Thomas Public Health, said in a statement..
St. John disclosed few details about the incident when interviewed Friday but promised a followup report by next week.
