The Mustangs defeated the Guelph Gryphons 4-1 Wednesday at Thompson arena to take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three Ontario university West final.
Despite the three-goal margin, the Mustangs would never have won if wasn’t for outstanding goaltending by Anthony Grieco and timely scoring by their big line.
Keaton Turkiewicz and Josh McQuade had two goals each for the Mustangs. They play on the Mustangs top line with Kevin Baker.
