Tim Best’s appeal of an impaired-driving conviction is expected to be filed in Toronto this week, and it could pave the way for his release on bail.
Appeal lawyer Robert Sheppard said Monday he has sent all of his materials to the Crown Law Office in Toronto and will likely file the appeal with the Ontario Court of Appeal on Tuesday. An application for bail pending appeal could be heard later in the week.
If successful, Best’s sentence would be in the intermittent range
