EXETER - Surging growth in Asia will push up grain and other commodity prices for years to come, says BMO economist Doug Porter.
"What's driving commodities is relentless growth in emerging markets," said Porter speaking to an farm seminar Wednesday.
Porter said the lagging US economy is becoming less important as emerging markets such as China roar out of the economic downturn driving global growth.
"That's a game changer...we think we are in the middle innings of a long-term run in commodities."
