Residents in the London region aren’t only waiting longer for cancer surgery and treatment — they’re also dying more often from cancer.
Southwestern Ontario had the fourth-highest cancer mortality rate of 14 regions in Ontario, according to data obtained by reporter Brett Clarkson of the Niagara Falls Review, a QMI Agency newspaper.
For every 100,000 people in the southwest region, 172.73 died from cancer in 2007, the most recent year for which data was obtained.
